2010 Legislative Day at the Capitol: "Challenge of Advocacy"

Nearly 92 members of the Health Care Auxiliary of Minnesota (HCAM) representing 21 hospitals and long-term care facilities stood up for health care priorities on Thursday, April 8, 2010 during “Day at the Capitol.” Attendance this year was up 58-percentfrom last year.

Each year, volunteers focus on telling lawmakers – in person – the story of the facility they serve. HCAM members visited their respective legislators and also left behind a fact sheet about issues under consideration by the Legislature.

Before their individual visits, leaders of the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) and Aging Services of Minnesota had briefed HCAM members on how proposals currently under consideration by the Legislature could affect health care. Below are presentations shown at the briefing:
