Heart of Minnesota Award The Heart of Minnesota Award was established in 1993 to honor a facility administrator who demonstrates a “cooperative, supportive, enthusiastic and well-defined relationship with the auxiliary/volunteer group.”
In 2009, the HCAM membership voted to establish an award to honor a Volunteer of the Year. This award honors a volunteer who demonstrates a cooperative, supportive, enthusiastic and well-defined relationship with his/her auxiliary/volunteer group, who goes “above and beyond” to enhance the lives of the patients and residents. This award will also be presented at the HCAM annual meeting in September. Nominees for each of these awards are solicited in April, and are judged by a panel of three judges chosen from member auxiliaries across the state. Each nomination is given a number so the judges do not know the names of the nominees. The results are tabulated, and the winners are determined. The 2010 HCAM Annual Meeting and Conference will be
